Why Vaccines of COVID -19 arrive in Brunei Darussalam Too Late Compared To Sarawak ?

April 02, 2021 (Friday) :

Brunei  Darussalam nearest of Sarawak State, Malaysia has received the first or a series of COVID - 19 vaccine doses shipped via the COVAX Facility, or COVID - 19 Vaccine Allocation Plan, a partnership between the World Health Organization (WHO), the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), Gavi, and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). This is a historic step in the fight against the COVID - 19 pandemic and in ensuring the safety of the people in Brunei Darussalam. The delivery is part of a wave of arrivals that will continue over the coming months.

" Vaccination is the most effective measure to protect oneself, loved ones, and even the community from the harmful effects of COVID-19. In the medium and long term, the more people are vaccinated, the higher the level of immunity of the population against the disease," said Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham Bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, Brunei Darussalam during the Press Conference on the The Launch Of The National Vaccination Program For COVID - 19 on April 01, 2021 (Thursday).

On March 31, 2021, COVAX shipped 24,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, from Amsterdam via Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, arriving on the morning of April 02, 2021. These 24,000 doses are the first of a total of 100,800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine expected to be provided in batches by the COVAX Facility by the end of June. Receiving the vaccines at the Brunei International Airport was Haji Maswadi Bin Haji Mohsin, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abd Latif, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional), Ministry of Health.

The COVAX Facility is an unprecedented global effort to provide every country in the world with equitable access to safe COVID - 19 vaccines as rapidly as possible. COVAX is part of the Access to COVID - 19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, a ground-breaking global collaboration to accelerate development, production, and equal access to COVID - 19 tests, treatments, and vaccines.

" WHO is in solidarity with the people of Brunei Darussalam and partners in welcoming the arrival of the COVID - 19 vaccines through the COVAX Facility," said Dr Lo Ying-Ru Jacqueline, Head of Mission and WHO Representative to Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. " Vaccines save lives and the arrival of these vaccines will help protect the priority groups identified by Brunei Darussalam - first and foremost health workers and other front-liners. Getting vaccinated, in combination with other proven public health measures, is a very important step for people to be protected against COVID-19."

" We welcome the arrival of the first batch of COVID - 19 vaccines in Brunei as part of the COVAX Facility. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the Ministry of Health and other partners to reach the people of Brunei with life-saving vaccines. We look forward to the next shipments, and a successful immunization campaign. The arrival of vaccines in Brunei gives us hope that there is an end to the pandemic," said Dr Rashed Mustafa Sarwar, UNICEF Representative to Malaysia and Special Representative to Brunei Darussalam.

Similar considerations for the use of "pooled" resources have been made before, particularly for procurement of medications by Brunei Darussalam and other countries in the region, and the COVAX Facility is an excellent example of the implementation of this concept.

As an addition to procurement through the COVAX Facility, the Ministry of Health will be procuring vaccines through bilateral arrangements as well. The COVID - 19 Vaccine Technical Committee will ensure that all the vaccines that will be administered to the public have met the necessary regulatory safety standards to protect the population.

The COVID - 19 Vaccination Programme will commence on Saturday, April 03, 2021, and will be implemented in three (3) phases according to different population groups :

1. Phase One : Includes frontliners, senior citizens aged 60 and above, as well as students or individuals who will be studying abroad.

2. Phase Two : Includes staff working at Daycare Centres, teachers and adults with high-risks / cormobidities.

3. Phase Three : Other individuals who are 18 years and above.

COVID - 19 vaccination centres will be set up in all the four (4) districts as follows:

Temburong District : Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Hospital

Belait District : Suri Seri Begawan Hospital

Tutong District : Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital, Tutong

Brunei Muara District : Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex

For the first phase, frontliners, specifically medical staff in Government and private health facilities across the country, will receive the vaccines first, to be followed by other frontliners who have been identified as a priority group to receive the vaccines.

Based on current evidence, the COVID - 19 vaccine can protect individuals from severe disease and reduce hospitalizations and deaths. Nevertheless, it is still important for the public to remain vigilant and continue to take usual precautions by adopting and practicing preventive measures as recommended. This includes avoiding crowded places where possible, practicing physical distancing where necessary, wearing a face mask, staying home when you have flu-like symptoms, as well as frequently washing your hands, maintaining personal hygiene and practicing proper cough and sneeze etiquette.

Why Don't Sharing Your Story In Media Social ?

What Mean Oversharing ?

Oversharing  is when people share too much personal information to the public or a stranger. It can happen both on and offline. However, it is a big problem on social media sites, which make "putting yourself online" easy.

What Are The Examples Of Oversharing ?

Through the result is the same, people overshare on social media in various ways. Here are a few examples:

 a. Posting intimate details about your relationships, friendships, family matters, or personal drama.

b. Posting embarrassing photos or videos of yourself or others.

c. Posting about whatever you are doing at a given moment, multiple times a day.

d. Sharing too much info about and photos of your children.

e.Using social media as a soapbox or a way to vent your emotions.

f. Posting photos or videos of things meant to be private.

g. Regularly posting your meals.

h. "Checking In" to everywhere you go.

Why We Need To Avoid Overshare ?

For starters, using social media too much can lead to oversharing. Here are a few other reasons people may have for sharing too much online:

1 # For Attention

Many people want their 15 minutes of fame. Getting likes, comments, shares, and that little boost of attention can give them the feeling of being famous. This can lead to a desire to post things they know will get them notices, even if they're "too much."

2 # To Let Out Their Frustrations

According to this article from the Huffington Post, "oversharing is fueled by our insecurities." We tent to care too much what others think and try to make up for what we think other people judge us for. This leads to some people sharing far too much info.

3 # To Vent Emotions And Stress

Chances are, we've all seen someone's angry Facebook rant at least once. Because social media gives everyone a voice and a platform to express it, it can be tempting to "air your dirty laundry" there. Before the internet, that temptation wasn't there.

4 # Social Media Encourages It

Social media sites invite users to share everything about their personal lives. It's easy to post a status update, a photo, an event, or a "check-in" with the click of a button. Unfortunately, this can lead to an anxious feeling called FOMO, or fear of missing out. FOMO is a lingering feeling that people are doing things without you, or that things are passing you by.

Social media profiles can give the impression that other people's lives are so much better than ours. After all, we can see into their lives where we wouldn't be able to before. People might login and see people's vacation photos, then wonder why their lives are so boring. This can lead to them being insecure about their own lives. They may be tempted to share their own "highlights" whenever they can to one-up their peers and look "interesting".

Why This Articles Important To Us ?

So, why is oversharing a problem ? We touched on this above, but didn't go into much detail. With that said, here are a few reasons to make sure you're not oversharing:

1-  It Can Be Unhealthy

When we're so heavily involved in social media that we're oversharing, we're playing a game where we compare our lives to others. This is known as social comparison. It can lead to depression, low self-esteem, and jealousy. Also, feeling like you have to share every detail to appear "interesting" only feeds into those feelings.

2-  It Can Lead To Security Problems

Sites like Facebook have often been called a stalker paradise. If someone really does want to stalk or target you in some way, they can learn about you by looking at your profile. The more info you share, the more they know.

This can also put you at more of a risk for identity theft in some cases. For example, if a thief manages to get a hold or your financial info, they can easily look at your Facebook to find other information needed to forge your identity.

3-  It Can Hurt Your Reputation

If you say the wrong thing without thinking, it can have huge consequences. Enough said.

We Must Avoid Oversharing From Now !!!

Oversharing can become a bad habit. However, breaking that habit is fairly simple.

Here I am sharing simple tips on how we can avoid it.

a). Don't Post When You Are Angry

Anger can make you say things you wouldn't have said otherwise. It can make you not really think about what you're saying. Angry posts may also send a message you didn't mean to send.

On the internet, nothing is really private and nothing really goes away. Even if your profile is set to private, your whole network sees what you post. There's nothing stopping your contacts from reposting and spreading what you say, even if you deleted it.

If you post the wrong thing, it can follow you for a long time. In the past, public figures have had their reputations and careers ruined because of a couple of tweets or posts. In a well-known example, the owners of a restaurant called "Amy's Baking Company" exploded on the company's are best known for. With that said, the same can happen to you on a smaller scale, even if you're not a public figure.

So, if you feel like posting that Facebook rant in a fit or anger, don't. Let yourself wind down before you post. Also, remember that most social media sites have private messaging. If you need to settle a conflict with someone, message them instead of commenting publicly.

 2-  Be Selective

Before you post anything on social media, take some time to decide if posting it is really a good idea. Use your best judgement to select what info you share on social media. Decide whether it's too personal, private, or controversial to post. Also, ask yourself: could someone use this information against me?

3- Remember That Social Media Isn't Your Life...Or Anyone Else's

Social media is a useful tool. However, be careful not to let it take over your life. Don't feel like you need to "prove" yourself on social media. In real life, most people don't really care about other's personal lives as much as the internet would have you believe.

Social media isn't a perfect picture of other peoples' lives. It's more of a highlight reel. Instead of living vicariously through these sites, try calling up your friends or family and spending some time together.

Finally, if you feel like these sites are affecting your mental health, try to "disconnect" for a while and do something outside of the internet from NOW!!!

Why Good Friday Is Important ?

GOOD FRIDAY IS WHAT ?

Good Friday, The Friday before Easter, the day on which Christians annually observe the commemoration of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. From the early days of Christianity, Good Friday was observed as a day of sorrow, penance, and fasting, a characteristic that finds expression in the German word Karfreitag. ( " Sorrowful Friday " ).

HISTORY OF GOOD FRIDAY ?

Following the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke), the mainstream of Christian tradition has held that Jesus' last meal with his disciples on the evening before his Crucifixion was a Passover seder. That would place the date on which Jesus died on 15 Nisan of the Jewish calender, or on the first day (starting at sundown) of Passover. According to the Gregorian (Western) calender, that date would be April 07. (The Gospel According to John, in contrast, holds that Passover had not yet begun when Jesus' final meal was held, which would place the date of Jesus' death on 14 Nisan.)

Christians, however, do not commemorate that fixed date. Instead, they follow the apparently flexible date of the Passover - which conforms to the Jewish lunisolar calendar rather than the Gregorian solar calendar - by relating the Last Supper to the seder. Although that assumption is problematic, the dating of both Good Friday and Easter has proceeded on that basis. Thus, Good Friday falls between March 20, the first possible date for Passover, and April 23, with Easter falling two days later.

WHY GOOD FRIDAY  IS IMPORTANT ?

For Christians, Good Friday is a crucial day of the year because it celebrates what we believe to be the momentous weekend in the history of the world. Ever since Jesus died and was raised, Christians have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all creation.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NOT CELEBRATE GOOD FRIDAY ?

Good Friday marks the day Jesus was crucified on the cross. From flying a kite to abstaining from booze, here's the scoop on this religious holiday.

1 # It Doesn't Seem Very Good

The earliest known use of "Guode Friday" is found in The South English Legendary, a text from around 1290 reports BBC News. But it seems contradictory to call a day that is about death "good". The thing is, despite Good Friday representing the anniversary of Jesus's death, it's also about the triumph of his rising again. Christianity.com explains it in this way:.." the name Good Friday is entirely appropriate because the suffering and death of Jesus, as terrible appropriate because the suffering and death of Jesus, as terrible as it way, marked the dramatic culmination of God's plan to save this people from their sins." Good Friday is one of the main things people who celebrate Easter all acknowledge, but other countries actually celebrate the holiday differently.

2 # It's An Unofficial Holiday

Various institutions around the U.S. including schools and banks may shut down on Good Friday, but according to The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, there are only 12 states that consider it an official holiday: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Lousiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Texas, and Tennessee.

3 # Some Take It A Little Too Far

Although it is condemned by the Church, Mic.com reports there are people who, in an act of faith, nail themselves to a cross to re-enact the Crucifixion.

4 # The First Good Friday

It's celebrated in the spring, but what is the exact date for Good Friday ? You'd have to go back a few thousand years to figure it out, and that's exactly what authors Andreas Kostenberger and Justin Taylor did, reports The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission using historical data starting with Tiberius's reign in A.D.14. The authors determined in their book, The Final Days of Jesus: The Most Important Week of the Most Important Person Who Ever Lived, that the date of the first Good Friday was Friday, April 3.

5 # Church Bells Toll 33 Times

There are many various traditions and rituals that surround Good Friday from all over the world. Some include a life-sized cross placed at the center of the altar in church that parishioners can then touch, reports India Today. Then there are some church services that conclude with a bell tolling 33 times in succession to represent each year of Jesus's life. Other Easter traditions are less-based in religion like these 9 Easter Traditions Based In Myths and Legends.

6 # Go Fly A Kite

Bermuda is known for its pastel houses and pink beaches, and it's also known for a custom that dates back to the 19th century: flying a kite on Good Friday. Why? Perhaps besides having a lovely beach to fly it on, a kite is flown to symbolize the cross that Jesus died on and his ascension into heaven, according to Timeanddate.com.

7 # Dancing Is Outlawed In Some Places

In Germany, the day is referred to as Sourowful Friday, which reflects on the sadness of Jesus's death. In fact, even dancing is frowned upon in Germany on that day.

8 # A Parade In Ecuador

In the historic district of Quito, Ecuador, there are men, called cucuruchos, that dress up in purple robes and pointed masked headdresses and walk in a special procession on Good Friday, explains theculturetrip.com. They are joined by other Ecuadorians who dress up like Christ and lug about a heavy wooden cross to partake in the Procession of the Penitents. The event draws about 250,000 people to each year. Parades are popular ways people celebrate Easter around the world. People also celebrate bunnies during this time too, here's why they're so popular around Easter.

9 # Good Wednesday Instead

Not everyone celebrates Good Friday on a Friday, says lasvegasnow.com. Rather than the more traditional Friday observance, Wednesday becomes the "good" day for many Baptist and non-Protestant Churches. They use the date of the Jewish sacrifice of the Passover Lamb as their observance of the crucifixion.

10 # No Pint For You

A pub in Ireland isn't hard to find, but a pint on Good Friday might be. Alcohol is mostly missing from Irish routines on this one day. However, if you really need to get your drink on, Irelandplanner.com reveals that you could head out to the train station, airports, or ferry ports. Heads up: You might have to show your trip ticket in order to get that pint.

11 # Eggs Are Not Just About Easter

The legend in Ireland is that if you collect eggs laid on Good Friday, they'll never rot. Some hold on to eggs for decades just to prove the myth, shares Irelandplanner.com. Another Irish tradition that isn't as risky is to eat in an egg on Easter Sunday that was laid on Good Friday. Supposedly, you'll reap health benefits all year long. Here's why eggs are associated with Easter in the first place.

12 # Time To Fast

Many Christians fast or abstain from eating any type of meat on the day. Others are slightly more lenient, indulging in one full meal and two smaller ones. Once fasting is over, celebrate with an Easter feast using these 15 simple recipes.

a. Kes - Kes positif dari kluster - kluster tempatan di Negeri Selangor, Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang, Melaka, Sabah, Sarawak dan juga Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan;
