MAGNITUDE 6.3 EARTHQUAKE JOLTS NORTHERN JAPAN - TOKYO JAPAN
TOKYO
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 hit northern Japan on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicenter of the earthquake, which hit at 8:22 p.m., was off the coast of Miyagi prefecture at a depth of 50 kilometers, the agency said, adding that no tsunami warning had been issued.
