ANWAR IBRAHIM TAKES OATH AS MALAYSIAN'S 10TH PRIME MINISTER : GE15
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been sworn in as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
The Pakatan Harapan chairman took his oath of office before the King at 1700 pm in Istana Negara here.
In GE15, no party was able to secure a simple majority to form the new Federal Government.
The three (3) main coalitions, namely Pakatan Harapan, Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional won 82, 73 and 30 seats respectively, resulting in a hung Parliament.
Political parties and coalitions failed to reach a consensus following the conclusion of GE15.
A special meeting was held at 1100 am on Thursday (November 24, 2022) among the Malay rules.
The special meeting was held to allow the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to seek the opinion of his fellow rulers on the formation of the new government.
