TWO CHINESE FIGHTER'S CROSSED TAIWAN STRAIT MEDIAN LINE
TAIPEI, SEPTEMBER 05, 2022: Two (2) Chinese fighter jets on Monday crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, which normally serves as an unofficial barrier between the two (2) sides, Taiwan's defence ministry said.
It said it had detected a total of 17 Chinese aircraft and four (4) Chinese ships operating around Taiwan, as Beijing continues its military activities near the island.
In another development, Taiwan will resume visa free entry for visitors from countries including the United States and Canada from next week, the government announce on Monday, as it continues to ease controls put in place to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Taiwan had kept its entry and quarantine rules in place as large parts of the rest of Asia have relaxed or lifted them completely, though in June it cut the number of days spent in isolation for arrivals to three (3) from seven (7) previously.
Taiwan has reported more than 5.3 million domestic cases since the beginning of the year, driven by the more infectious Omicron variant. But with more than 99% of those exhibiting no or mild symptoms, the government has relaxed rather than tightened restrictions in what it calls the "new Taiwan model".
Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Centre said the resumption of visa free entry for visitors from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and diplomatic allies would start from next Monday.
The decision was made based on the fact that most countries around the world have already reopened their borders and resumed pre-pandemic border measures and the need to balance epidemic prevention, economic and social activities and international exchanges.
Command centre chief Victor Wang told reporters the three (3) days of quarantine and need for a PCR test upon arrival would remain for the time being, as well as the current cap on 50,000 arrivals a week.
Taiwan, which has a well vaccinated population, has already ended the requirement for pre-departure negative PCR tests.
Throughout the pandemic Taiwanese citizens and foreign residents have been prohibited from leaving and then re-entering, though have had to quarantine either at home or in hotels.
Before the pandemic, Taiwan was a popular tourist destination for mainly Asian visitors, with Japan, South Korea and South-East Asia the most important markets.

NEGARA AFRIKA MARTABATKAN SERANGGA BERGUNA KELANGSUNGAN KEHIDUPAN SEHARIAN

TAKEN TWO INDIVIDUALS STATEMENTS OVER ALLEGED LEAKED JUDGEMENT ON ROSMAH'S COURT CASE
KUALA LUMPUR: The police confirmed that they have recorded the statements of two (2) individuals in relation to the alleged leaked judgement on Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's corruption case.
Sentul district police chief ACP Beh Eng Lai said that the individuals were a High Court judge and a legal officer.
" We have identified 10 witnesses that we will call up, and the remainder will be asked to provide their statement soon," he said when asked to comment on the investigation into the matter.
The Chief Registrar's Office of the Federal Court lodged a police report over the matter on August 27, after the alleged judgement was published on a news website that had also carried a purported leaked draft of Datuk Seri Najib Razak's SRC International appeal judgement.
The alleged leaked document then went viral on social media and was subsequently used by Rosmah's defence counsel as a basis to seek the last-minute recusal of High Court Judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan.
